Description
Hevi-Shot Hevi-18 TSS Turkey goes ultra-dense with HEVI-18™ TSS Turkey, bringing best-in-class implementation to hunters. Hevi-18 TSS Turkey density pellets provide high pellet count and long-range lethality. We achieve highly tight patterns thanks to our unique shell-sealed, frictionless spherical damper. The 18 g/cc density HEVI-18 TSS granules provide a high.
Why Was The Hevi-18 TSS Turkey Discontinued?
The company concluded an investigation that revealed substandard wads in its 12-gauge and 3-inch Hevi Metal and Hevi Steel shotshells that could cause damage or injury. While the surfaces themselves do not pose a considerable risk, the wads can jam in the barrel after firing. Our new HEVI-Bismuth™ waterfowl projectiles use bismuth, which is 22% denser than steel, to deliver more lethality at an affordable price. And it’s safe for older fixed choke shotguns and fine classic double shotguns. Buy Browning TSS Turkey Ammunition 12 Gauge online.

I fired this buckshot load thru an Ithaca 37 with a 20 inch cylinder bore barrel. At 15 yards the patter was about the size of a playing card. Backing up to 25 yards the group enlarged to roughly 9 inches. Recoil is also less than normal buck.

When shooting a shotgun match I prefer low velocity rounds. Just enough to hit/knock down target or for slugs to punch a hole in cardboard.

Don\’t be afraid to use these in the Remington TAC 14 or the Mossberg model !

Excellent ammunition. Benelli M1 tactical 18 1/2 inch barrel. IC choke tube. Six inch pattern at 15 yd. Three inch pattern at seven yards. Cycled perfectly. Easy recoil. Full choke tube gave erratic bunchy patterns so stay with IC tube. Knocked down pepper popper at 15 yards at least as hard as a 45 ACP. I don\’t even bother with the other brands, I just use Federal for everything.

Spent three months testing slugs and buckshot, sizes #4 #1 and 00 in three different shotguns. A Marlin all steel pump from the early 70\’s, proven, a home defense Rem 870 with which I have a lot of training, and a Browning gas operated Gold 12, my pet of pets. Here are the results of the top two. At 20 yards – Hornady # 4 buckshot, 18 of 24 pellets at 1350 fps in a 6×6\” pattern. Federal reduced recoil, 30 of 34 pellets at 1100 fps in 10×12\” pattern. I will take the Federal because in the dark, sleepy clouded eyes, 2AM, I want the wide pattern. I suspect it will work well enough, tho the HOrnady would be more devastating. This is strictly a home defense choice. The gun used was the Browning Gold with no. 3 Invector choke but the results were just about the same with the 870 and the Marlin, both open slug barrel smooth bores. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Now a word of warning about S&B for sale at loss leader prices, here on Midway, at loss leader prices. I dont see them now, and that is good. Out of the pumps, difficult ejection, sometimes I was required to pound the recoil padded butt down on a picnic table while holding the forearm. Those S&B\’s did not want to come out, and 3 or 4 out of a box, could not be ejected without strenuous efforts that would have made you the big loser in tactical situations. Half the time, I could feel the S&B\’s dragging on the extraction, reluctant but they did come out tho much harder than they should have been. One problem was, upon measuring the unfired rounds I found them to be fractionally longer than other 2&3/4 shells, and fatter at the mouth of the case. I guess that the off size and uneven pressures had a lot to do with it. The stuff was cheap, OK for varmints in the garden or maybe a coyote blind but NOT, repeat NOT reliable.

These are great low recoil rounds. I use them in 3 Gun competition and at the range. They are much easier to come back on target after the shot vs. some of the other brands.

This product is the ideal ammo for indoor shotgun usage. It is allowed at most ranges. it shoots clean, it\’s not overly powerful, It\’s very accurate, cycles well in my semiautomatic. The price is also very reasonable. Buy in quantity with free shipping and you can\’t go wrong. a complete win win situation and a lot of fun to shoot.

From my 20\” barrel 870 with cylinder choke, pattern results are as follows (extreme spread in all cases):15 yards – 4\”,20 yards – 4\”,25 yards – 5\”,30 yards – 7\”,35 yards – 12\”.I have patterned a good bit of buckshot over the years and these pattern the tightest that I have ever seen. Had I not done this myself I would have had a hard time believing what they are capable of. I recovered a couple of the FLITECONTROL wads and they are very deep and heavily constructed, which no doubt is a major factor in such outstanding performance. The folks at Federal have a winner here.

Always use Federal for when it matters…how defense. This Ammo works well in my Remington 870. Feed with no issues.

This is the heaviest shot charge in a 2 3/4 12 gauge factory load that I\’m aware of. It has enhanced, not reduced, recoil. I can\’t imagine needing to shoot more than once with this load, but it\’s comforting to know that firing all eight rounds in my Remington 870 will put 272 #4 buckshot downrange.

Can\’t complain one bit. This ammo is packaged well, the little ammo can is nice as part of the deal. The recoil is soft and it\’s pretty darn accurate. I got this as the slugs to stock up on for my Mossberg 590A1 SBS. With the short 14\” barrel these shoot a little low at 25 yards but I\’ll take that over the recoil of a full power slug any day. Ammo shoots very clean as well.

Excellent. These will be my primary load for HD. Recoil is nice and light. Pattern stayed 1.5 inches or less up to 21 ft.

I took the ammo to the range. Fired perfectly, no jams no miss fires. This ammo is fantastic for practice.

Shoot sporting clays and dove hunted with these shells. These worked great for both.

I use these for target practice. They cycle flawlessly in my Mossberg 930 SPX and Mossberg 500. Patterns are consistent and felt recoil is less than full loads. Great price for a quality round.
