  1. Mason (verified owner)

I have tried many other brands of ammo, these grouped the best for my rifle.

  2. Dominic (verified owner)

Purchased in both 40gr and 55gr to compare. The 55gr was far superior in my Ruger M77. After much searching for a load in my reloading efforts, I was able to find one that fairly satisfied me. My reloads are only marginally more consistent and accurate than the Hornadys. This would definitely be my go-to round for predator hunting. I LIKE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”EM!!!!!

  3. John (verified owner)

High quality, high performance ammo. Just what you would expect from Hornady. Works great for bustin yotes!

  4. Ryan (verified owner)

  5. Samuel (verified owner)

  6. Edward (verified owner)

Far and away the most accurate round out of my Ruger AR556. I’ve tried about a dozen different loads and this is a clear winner. Nothing else is even close. I haven’t hunted with this (& don’t really varmint hunt so Ill likely never get the chance) so I can’t speak for its performance on game. But consistency and accuracy is sooo good I may try a couple Hornady loads in my deer rifle after using Barnes exclusively the last couple of years.

  7. Richard (verified owner)

High quality, high performance ammo. Just what you would expect from Hornady. Works great for bustin yotes!

  8. Henry (verified owner)

After sight in of scope, I have never shot a 5 shot group @ 100m over a 1 moa. Also works good in Colt sp1 and Colt A2.

  9. Jackson (verified owner)

This ammo shot sub MOA out to 300yds in my savage LPV 1 in 9 twist.

I am a Marine and when in the Corps in the early 90’s we qualified for the M-16 rifle out to 500 Meters using ball ammo. I put Hornady’s V-Max .223 to the test using my Bushmaster and M&P-15 Ar’s. They shoot good groups at a point target at 500 Meters and decent kill shots at an area target at 800 Meters. I didn’t have the range where I was shooting to shoot past 800 meters, but I would guess it would work fine out to 1000 Meters. Great Product!!!

I shoot Prairie Dogs at 600 yards with this Ammo This is the one that remains consistent

  15. Jackson (verified owner)

This ammo is perfect for taking those groundhogs that my 17 HMR can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t reach. The round expands great and is devastating to groundhogs.

  16. Julian (verified owner)

When I don’t have time to load my own – this is my go to factory round. Shoots 1 MOA out of my Krieger – smacks prairie dogs out to 300 yards – no problem.

  17. Bryan (verified owner)

great ammo like most of hornady, my ar loves it, .5 groups at 100yrds.

  18. Tyler (verified owner)

This round will shoot sub moa all day from my 1/8 Ruger American 22″ 1:9 twist AR15. Tightest groups I have found with factory ammo.

  19. Kayden (verified owner)

great ammo like most of hornady, my ar loves it, .5 groups at 100yrds.

  20. Matthew (verified owner)

I used this ammo in my Remington 700 26\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” Varmint Rifle in a H&S Stock and I was getting 3/8 in groups. I will use them on Coyotes this winter.

  21. Max (verified owner)

This is the gold standard in my opinion for 223 ammo. It is very consistent in my rifle and by other reviews it works great for most people.

  22. Samuel (verified owner)

I have shot these out of 1-7 and 1-8 twist barrels. Both barrels shot 1/2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” at 100 yards. The slight bit of inaccuracy was likely due on my part. As for hunting, I have successfully taken down hogs with this 55gr bullet. One shot and they didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t move. 23. Anthony (verified owner)

I have been using the 55 grain load in my mini 14. Most shots are less than 100 yds in the big woods of New York’s Catskill mountains. Our larger Eastern coyote’s can go to 70 lbs and are no match to this excellent round. Will be using this for many years to come.

  24. Zane (verified owner)

I use this product for hunting Coyotes at night with Thermal Night Vision. The 55gr V-max anchors them where they are. Excellent terminal performance. Also, I am getting 0.25\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” groups out of this ammunition from an over the counter Tikka. 25. Charles (verified owner)

I enjoy bench rest shooting with my AR 15. These rounds consistently shoot under 3/4 MOA when I do my part. No other factory round has ever done that for me!

  26. Charles (verified owner)

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve been looking for an accurate round for my AR and these have performed great. I have a 20\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” 1:8 barrel and have tried many different bullet weights by different manufactures. 1/2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” at 100 yards in 15+ mph winds and that was 8 shots no flyers.

  27. Samuel (verified owner)

This Ammo is amazing. I use it for varmints and Coyotes on the farm, I have come to count on this ammo to hit its mark every time and it is Deadly 1 shot 1 kill, I shoot this out of a TC Venture and my groups are so small I can cover them with a Dime, every time.

300yd shots at coyotes are no problem! One round and they are in the dirt. This round seems to blowup when it hits! No ftfire, fteject,or jams in mini14. Holds really good groups at 200yds bottom of coke can size.

I have a Rock River 18″ Predator Pursuit in stainless with a 1/8″ twist. She’s topped off with a Nikon with turret set for 3240ft/sec rounds. When I’m having a really good day, these rounds will just about go through the same hole every time. Took a young man deer hunting with me last year and he made a 225yd head shot his 2nd time ever on the gun. Also had these rounds at the range with a guy next to me shooting hand loaded customs, and I was out shooting him. He asked what I was shooting and looked visibly upset that I was shooting factory loads. Tried other loads a couple years ago and a few were OK, but these Hornadys beat the pants off anything else I’ve tried. I’ve also smacked a couple coyotes with these rounds with “dirt nap” results. With the accuracy these Hornadys have, there’s no good reason for me to even try any other round.

I only have 50-yard small bore targets. The 10-ring is about the size of a nickel. I set the target at 200-yards. This product is very consistent. 5-shots in the ten ring grouping . No miss shots or fires.

  33. Mateo (verified owner)

Awesome round for Coyotes. Used this ammo out of my DPMS AR (Sweet16) and dont think Ill buy any other brand. Puts the yotes down easily. Took this round out to about 250 yds, no problem.

The ammo will shoot 0.75 groups all day if I do my part. I tried 10 different manufacturer loads until I found this Hornady load and this was the factory load my rifle likes the best.

    Use this for varmint hunting.

  38. Leo (verified owner)

I get ½ inch groups at 100 yards from both my both my Mossberg MVP Varmit 1:9 twist and Rock River Varminter. Accurate, consistent, reliable. Would consider it for coyotes out to 300 yards and smaller varmints up to 500. Also, a good price point.

  39. Patrick (verified owner)

Out of my Windham AR, this is the most accurate ammo I have used. I bought a box and fired that at 100 yards. It was so good I bought 20 boxes!! I am using it to thin the Feral Hogs around here in central Texas.

  40. Robert (verified owner)

This ammo lives up to the high standards you expect from Hornady. Excellent accuracy,, flat shooting, very consistent I took a coyote at 250 yards with no exit wound, the bullet penetrated but expanded and stayed in the animal. He dropped in his tracks!

i love useind this 55gr its great for hogs and coyotes wouldnt buy any other ammo
