HSM Tipping Point 7mm-08 Remington
HSM Tipping Point 7mm-08 Remington celebrated its 50th-anniversary last year, and while it’s now got half a century of ammo-manufacturing experience under its belt, it hasn’t been resting on its laurels.
In 2019, HSM Tipping Point Ammunition 7mm-08 Remington introduced its latest line of hunting ammo, Tipping Point, available in nine loads: .243 Win., 6mm and 6.5mm Creedmoor, .270 Win., 7mm-08 Rem., 7mm Rem. Mag., .308 Win., .30-06 Sprg. and .300 wins. Magazine HSM Ammunition’s Turning Point is topped off with Sierra’s GameChanger bullet, which looks strikingly similar to his MatchKing bullet. Why? Because GameChanger is essentially a redesigned MatchKing. Sierra engineers, and most sharpshooters in general, have known the accuracy potential of the famous “SMK” (HSM tipping point 6.5 Creedmoor) bullets for quite some time. Buy Sierra GameChanger Ammunition 300 AAC Blackout 125 Grain online.
So, sierra game changer 308 has recrafted this bullet using a hollow-point design for quick expansion and added a green tip for improved ballistic characteristics. The jacket is made of gilding metal—a 95-percent copper and five-percent zinc mix. More importantly, to ensure the bullet stays intact Upon impact, the GameChanger features a unique lead-antimony alloy core with a copper jacket that is 0.001 inches thicker than the original SMK bullet. While a thousandth of an inch doesn’t sound like much, any extra thickness in a game bullet helps the bullet stay composed at high speeds. One of the other essential design elements contributing to SMK’s popularity, echoed by the Tipping Point, is its boattail.

After shooting 100 rounds there was no FTF or misfeeds. I am very impressed with how accurate the ammo is.
Lucas (verified owner) –
I searched for a round that my .223 bolt action fired consistently. The first time I fired this ammo I was shooting clover leaf patterns at 100 yards and 1\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” to 1.5\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” inch groups at 200 yards. This ammo stops the Yotes in their tracks.

When I don’t have time to load my own – this is my go to factory round. Shoots 1 MOA out of my Krieger – smacks prairie dogs out to 300 yards – no problem.
John (verified owner) –
Great shooting ammo would buy again.
Mateo (verified owner) –
Using my Tikka T3 at 100′ I can put 10 rounds in a dime. I have taken prairie dogs 300. Burns clean, no FTF or FTE. this is excellent ammo.
Kevin (verified owner) –
My favorite ammunition for coyotes, squirrels, and any other vermin or predators that end up in my crosshairs. Accuracy is great, and I have no problem using this as a home defense ammunition out of my MSR. Or, as a hunting round from my MSR. Great stuff!
David (verified owner) –
I get ½ inch groups at 100 yards from both my both my Mossberg MVP Varmit 1:9 twist and Rock River Varminter. Accurate, consistent, reliable. Would consider it for coyotes out to 300 yards and smaller varmints up to 500. Also, a good price point.

My grandson and I are novice predator hunters. I own a .223 caliber rifle and have used mainly the Hornady .223 55 grain bullet and the results have been solid. No complains and I will continue to use this load.
Ryan (verified owner) –
I have shot these out of 1-7 and 1-8 twist barrels. Both barrels shot 1/2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” at 100 yards. The slight bit of inaccuracy was likely due on my part. As for hunting, I have successfully taken down hogs with this 55gr bullet. One shot and they didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t move. I know it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s not advertised for this, but there isn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t much this round can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t do.

These grouped down to less than .75\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” out of my 223 Sako Varmint. But, they splash real bad at the speed these things are going (3100 – 3200fps). Even on something as small as adult prairie dogs, they \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”blow up” and make a large (3″ – 4″blister” type wound and don’t even get through the animals. I found this to be a problem with all the thin jacket “Varmint” bullets though. I finally hand loaded some Sierra 55 grain SBT\’s that do the job 100% better.

Awesome round for Coyotes. Used this ammo out of my DPMS AR (Sweet16) and dont think Ill buy any other brand. Puts the yotes down easily. Took this round out to about 250 yds, no problem.

I use this ammo in an older Remington 700 BDL varmint rifle with heavy bull barrel. This ammo is tack driving accurate out to 200 yards each and every time I use it. Highly recommended.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve got to say this ammo straight up performs. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve shot 3 coyotes already this year with this ammo and it has dropped all 3 with no exit hole. Perfect if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re selling pelts like me and don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t want huge exit holes. They go in and do their job, but don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t come out. Never been one that really goes for groups but I would assume they shoot sub moa because I can shoot possums and skunks at 200 yards no problem that are eating the bait for the coyotes… I won\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t be changing loads in my ar any time soon. These bullets get the job done, period.

Great on bigger game too. With the accuracy of these, whitetails at 200+yards are certainly not off limits. However, those are head and neck shots which put them down immediately. I have yet to try for a heart shot, but I am positive it would work equally as well. Accuracy is everything, and these factory loads are awesome on paper and in the field.

This ammo is perfect for taking those groundhogs that my 17 HMR can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t reach. The round expands great and is devastating to groundhogs.
Anthony (verified owner) –
As a Firearms retailer I get a lot of request for this ammo. My customers feel it performs exactly as and in many cases better than expected. They use it for both varmint and whitetail and hunting. I myself have used it on whitetail and hog and have been well pleased. I highly recommend this and many other Hornady Ammunition. However, remember that all firearms do not shoot different ammo as accurately as others. It is up to the individual and their likes and dislikes that determines their preferences on ammunition.

Just buy this ammo, nothing better unless you reload yourself. But as for me, this ammo will shoot 1/2 groups at 100, unless you are shooting very large numbers of rounds, and if you figure your time as anything. You don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t need to spend your time reloading. This ammo is so good; I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t get myself to sit in front of the reloader. I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t get any better groups with my reloads. Now if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re just out plinking and shooting hundreds of rounds a day. Naturally this is too expensive. But for serious hunting. This is the best commercial you can buy in my opinion.

Originally purchased these to compare to the accuracy of my handloads.
Ryan (verified owner) –
I tested 8 different loads of 55 gr 223 through my 1-9 twist, and this Hornady v-max gave the tightest groups. It was just a tenth inch tighter than Nosler Varmageddon and 3/10 inch tighter than the Hornady TAP groups. I ran 20 rounds of each load, with the first 5 shots wasted for adjustment – only included the first five shots in the calculations where no adjustment was necessary. I tested outdoors with 2-15mph winds but mostly waited for no wind before taking shots. Other loads that didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t fair too well were PRVI (worst), Winchester NATO 2nd worst, Fiocchi 3rd worst, Hornady GMX Lead-Free 4th worst. Barnes VOR-TX Lead-free came right behind the Hornady TAP at 4th best by 3/10 inch and beat Hornady\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s GMX Lead-Free load by 3/10 inch.

Just what you would expect from Hornady products. Shoots sub MOA groups. Havn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t had a chance to try on coyote yet, but it is fast, accurate, and dependable.

0.5″ group at 100 yards was the smallest group I got using this ammo in a Remington 700 Varmint 2″ fluted barrel with 1:12″ twist.

I used to reload years ago but with the quality of ammo hornady makes I quit reloading. I use this ammo for coyote hunting brings them down good . Use it in my bolt action as well as my Ar

Using this in my AR15 build for coyote calling. Accurate, clean burning and deadly.

Out of 20\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”, 7.7 twist Krieger bull barrel, this ammo shoots very well. I will update the review when I do mid range testing out to 600 yards and for FPS, SD and ES testing. See the photo 4 shot group at 100 yards.

No worries about needing a second shot. 130 yards on 1 of the biggest groundhogs I have ever seen. I wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t sure if he was hit because he never moved at all. Until the familiar tail wiggle. This is the only round I buy for my Stag Arms AR 1 in 9 twist. Hope this helps..

I recently purchased a ruger mini 14 in 223. I was expecting groups to fall within the 2 to 3 inch range at a hundred yards. At least that\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s what the forums were telling me. I have used hornady ammo in my hunting guns,my self defense guns and my competition guns and hornady has never let me down. This 223 55gr v-max is no exception. It shoots 3 shot groups that measure just over 3/4 inch center to center at a hundred yards. This is way better than i expected. Blows rats to pieces. I will be using this ammo for all my varmint needs in this rifle as well as keeping protesters off my porch. Go Trump
