Norma USA American PH Ammunition 6.5 Creedmoor 130 Grain

The Norma USA American PH Ammunition 6.5 Creedmoor (6.5×48 mm), 6.5 Creedmoor by SAAMI, 6.5 Creedmoor by the C.I.P. or 6.5 CM or 6.5 CRDMR for short, is a centerfire rifle cartridge introduced by Hornady in 2007.

Federal has several norma American ph offerings, but Fusion is a reasonable choice for an all-around, accessible hunting round. With a 140-grain weak point shell, hunters get serious knockdown power on antelope and deer at lesser ranges. It is not a 400+ yard reliable killing bullet, but again, it’s not purported. Buy Norma Whitetail Ammunition 7mm-08 Remington 150 Grain for sale.

So, the Norma American PH Ammunition is a beast explicitly designed to compete with the .308 Win cartridge. Many hunters believe that the Creedmoor is an all-around better round because it’s lighter, faster, and offers far less recoil than its Winchester companion.

This ammo shooting s great out of my ruger556. Very consistent groups

I used this ammo in my Remington 700 26\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” Varmint Rifle in a H&S Stock and I was getting 3/8 in groups. I will use them on Coyotes this winter.

I have been using this particular Hornady ammunition for several years now. I have compared it to custom Match Grade factory ammo and meticulously handloaded Match Grade specs ammo. It has ALWAYS produced equal and quite often better results. Shooting this particular round out of a pre-ban Colt SP-1 from a bench, I was astounded at the accuracy. I placed 6 rounds one on top of the other at 150 meters and had thought something had gone awry when I didn’t see any further “splats’n See target I was using. The 1st round impacted the target at dead center right on the cross and each subsequent round (total of 6) impacted the same hole. It wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t until I walked downrange and physically inspected and then measured the target, along with a fellow shooter, that I discovered what had actually taken place. Sub-MOA nothing; it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s what I would term \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”surgical-precision\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” results! Needless to say I was grinning like a jack@$$ eatin\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ briars! I tried to upload pics of the target, etc. with this review, however; the internet wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t cooperating. Therefore, unfortunately, there are no pictures included for you to see the superb accuracy of this ammo on the actual target for yourself. When I took this ammo out into the field I was even more pleasantly surprized. It will drop any game from varmints to deer and wild hogs \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”DRT\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” (dead right there) in it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s tracks (with a properly placed shot of course). It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s as if you ran up to whatever game you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re shooting and hit it in the head with a 5 lb. sledge hammer. The spent brass also reloads easily with a minimum amount of prepping. Thank you so very much Hornady for producing such a super grade round at such an affordable price and Thank you Midway for carrying it.

300yd shots at coyotes are no problem! One round and they are in the dirt. This round seems to blowup when it hits! No ftfire, fteject,or jams in mini14. Holds really good groups at 200yds bottom of coke can size.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve always used this ammo when I change scopes out because of its accuracy & I killed my first coyote with this ammo also

  6. Julian (verified owner)

Awesome round for Coyotes. Used this ammo out of my DPMS AR (Sweet16) and dont think Ill buy any other brand. Puts the yotes down easily. Took this round out to about 250 yds, no problem.

  7. Nathaniel (verified owner)

This Ammo is amazing. I use it for varmints and Coyotes on the farm, I have come to count on this ammo to hit its mark every time and it is Deadly 1 shot 1 kill, I shoot this out of a TC Venture and my groups are so small I can cover them with a Dime, every time.

  8. Leo (verified owner)

As a Firearms retailer I get a lot of request for this ammo. My customers feel it performs exactly as and in many cases better than expected. They use it for both varmint and whitetail and hunting. I myself have used it on whitetail and hog and have been well pleased. I highly recommend this and many other Hornady Ammunition. However, remember that all firearms do not shoot different ammo as accurately as others. It is up to the individual and their likes and dislikes that determines their preferences on ammunition.

  9. Avery (verified owner)

I shoot this in a Noveske AR, and it shoots great, consistent, no feed problems, and groups sub moa.

  10. Isaac (verified owner)

I use it in my Mini-14 which has been rebarreled with a 24\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” bbl. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m getting 3240 FPS with very little variation between cartridges. It has been very accurate, giving me the best groups of any of the 12 different makes and versions of .223 ammo that I tested.

  11. Bryan (verified owner)

Use this in my AR to coyote hunt.

  12. Leo (verified owner)

    Use this for varmint hunting.

I have tried many other brands of ammo, these grouped the best for my rifle.

  15. Owen (verified owner)

Very accurate for a factory load in my 223 Remington 700 VTR. Midway USA Has the best prices.

  16. Max (verified owner)

I was able to cut holes with this ammunition at 100 yards out of my Savage .223, excellent ammo.

  17. Isaac (verified owner)

I have been using the 55 grain load in my mini 14. Most shots are less than 100 yds in the big woods of New York’s Catskill mountains. Our larger Eastern coyote’s can go to 70 lbs and are no match to this excellent round. Will be using this for many years to come.

  18. Camden (verified owner)

I have used this ammo for years.I use it to Deer hunt with here in Oklahoma.(Deer? Yes!!! Deer.)The 55 gr V-MAX bullet has worked for me on everything from Coyotes to Deer putting them all on the ground. Buy this Ammo, You Cant Go Wrong.

  19. Kayden (verified owner)

This ammunition is very accurate and I would recommend it to anyone.

  20. Anthony (verified owner)

It is used in a Savage bolt action rifle with a 3×9 scope for foxes and coyotes that are bothering pets and livestock.

  21. Camden (verified owner)

Very tight groups at 100 yards out of my Rock River Coyote Carbine (16″ barrel). The accuracy and precision was outstanding for a factory load.

  22. Nolan (verified owner)

I tested 8 different loads of 55 gr 223 through my 1-9 twist, and this Hornady v-max gave the tightest groups. It was just a tenth inch tighter than Nosler Varmageddon and 3/10 inch tighter than the Hornady TAP groups. I ran 20 rounds of each load, with the first 5 shots wasted for adjustment – only included the first five shots in the calculations where no adjustment was necessary. I tested outdoors with 2-15mph winds but mostly waited for no wind before taking shots. Other loads that didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t fair too well were PRVI (worst), Winchester NATO 2nd worst, Fiocchi 3rd worst, Hornady GMX Lead-Free 4th worst. Barnes VOR-TX Lead-free came right behind the Hornady TAP at 4th best by 3/10 inch and beat Hornady\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s GMX Lead-Free load by 3/10 inch.

  23. Liam (verified owner)

I shoot these rounds out a savage axis ll not a expensive gun at all I think I paid somewhere around $400 ish for the rifle. Also it came with a 3×9 bushnell banner dusk till dawn scope. The rifle was bore sighted and after about 2 shots I had it dialed into the bullseye. I was zeroing it at 50 yards roughly then lowered my crosshairs down to the specifications on the back of the box for 100 yards. Again bullseye. I was cutting holes with these rounds repeatedly on just a sand bag rest.

  24. Julian (verified owner)

Great round. Very consistent. Shooting at distance and in pretty stiff wind in SD and it performed well. To be honest, it shot identically to some reloads using the Nosler version of this bullet. My AR is a different rifle with this bullet versus the any of the common FMJ available. As I shoot out my FMJ I’ll be reloading with this bullet from now on. Hornady put together great rounds and produces very consistent performance.

  25. Hayden (verified owner)

    Use this for varmint hunting.

  26. Nicholas (verified owner)

My grandson and I are novice predator hunters. I own a .223 caliber rifle and have used mainly the Hornady .223 55 grain bullet and the results have been solid. No complains and I will continue to use this load.

  27. David (verified owner)

Purchased in both 40gr and 55gr to compare. The 55gr was far superior in my Ruger M77. After much searching for a load in my reloading efforts, I was able to find one that fairly satisfied me. My reloads are only marginally more consistent and accurate than the Hornadys. This would definitely be my go-to round for predator hunting. I LIKE \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”EM!!!!!

  28. Anthony (verified owner)

Out of 20\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”, 7.7 twist Krieger bull barrel, this ammo shoots very well. I will update the review when I do mid range testing out to 600 yards and for FPS, SD and ES testing. See the photo 4 shot group at 100 yards.

I wanted some cases to reload so bought the product when it was on sale. It is okay ammo but not precision ammo. Haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t chrono\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ed it but expect the velocities to be fairly modest. Shoots under 1 MOA. 55 Grain bullet too heavy for sage rat shooting but over all it would be okay if you didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t reload and just wanted some fairly inexpensive ammo for you rifle.

I ordered 2 or 3 boxes of this a while back, along with a couple boxes of the 40 gr. Varmint Express. I have an older model CZ 527 Lux with a 1-12\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” twist. I finally did some patterning with them the other day. It was really windy & the Lux has a skinny barrel, so I only shot groups of 3. I got right under MOA averages with the biggest spread being under 1.25 on all groups. Not bad factoring conditions & that I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m not the greatest shot in the world. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m sure I can get slightly under .75 MOA groups with this combo with a little work on my part, but I was getting .360 & under groupings with the 40 gr. I had to take off 1 star because that\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s the performance it gave me. Not the greatest, but still more than acceptable. I have no doubts faster twist would be perfect for the 55 gr. and earn that 5th star. Definitely worth trying out.

I use this ammo in an older Remington 700 BDL varmint rifle with heavy bull barrel. This ammo is tack driving accurate out to 200 yards each and every time I use it. Highly recommended.

I have my own built AR-15, Spike lower with fixed stock, 2 stage trigger 3 1/2lbs. pull RRA with a delton upper, 24\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” SS bull barrel Stag Arms 1/8 Twist and this rifle LOVES Hornady V-Max 55gr. I can put 3 in the same whole and 5 rounds within a dime and/or nikle size at 100yds, and 1\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” group at 200 yds. 🙂

I tagged a coyote at 75 yards and she didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t take a step, entrance was about the size of your finger exit was about acorn sized.
