Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition 6.5 Creedmoor

The Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition 6.5 Creedmoor is tipped with the Federal’s Terminal Ascent bullet at 130 grains. Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition is listed with Nosler’s Accubond Long Range bullet at 129 grains.

Jacketed bullets will allow for expansion and energy transfer and, therefore, should be the preferred shot design for your 6.5 Creedmoor against whitetail deer. The qualified range of the 6.5 Creedmoor is a respectable 500 yards with quality ammo. Buy HSM Trophy Gold Ammunition 30-06 Springfield 185 Grain online.

So, it was the 6.5 glamour cartridge before the Creedmoor came along. It’s based on the .284 Winchester, which never caught on except among wildcatters, who loved it desperately and necked it up, down, and sideways. The 6.5/284 is the Creedmoor with goat glands and adds about 250 fps to whatever the latter can do.

This ammo shooting s great out of my ruger556. Very consistent groups

I recently purchased a ruger mini 14 in 223. I was expecting groups to fall within the 2 to 3 inch range at a hundred yards. At least that\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s what the forums were telling me. I have used hornady ammo in my hunting guns,my self defense guns and my competition guns and hornady has never let me down. This 223 55gr v-max is no exception. It shoots 3 shot groups that measure just over 3/4 inch center to center at a hundred yards. This is way better than i expected. Blows rats to pieces. I will be using this ammo for all my varmint needs in this rifle as well as keeping protesters off my porch. Go Trump

I have been using this particular Hornady ammunition for several years now. I have compared it to custom Match Grade factory ammo and meticulously handloaded Match Grade specs ammo. It has ALWAYS produced equal and quite often better results. Shooting this particular round out of a pre-ban Colt SP-1 from a bench, I was astounded at the accuracy. I placed 6 rounds one on top of the other at 150 meters and had thought something had gone awry when I didn’t see any further “splats’n See target I was using. The 1st round impacted the target at dead center right on the cross and each subsequent round (total of 6) impacted the same hole. It wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t until I walked downrange and physically inspected and then measured the target, along with a fellow shooter, that I discovered what had actually taken place. Sub-MOA nothing; it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s what I would term \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”surgical-precision\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” results! Needless to say I was grinning like a jack@$$ eatin\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ briars! I tried to upload pics of the target, etc. with this review, however; the internet wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t cooperating. Therefore, unfortunately, there are no pictures included for you to see the superb accuracy of this ammo on the actual target for yourself. When I took this ammo out into the field I was even more pleasantly surprized. It will drop any game from varmints to deer and wild hogs \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”DRT\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” (dead right there) in it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s tracks (with a properly placed shot of course). It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s as if you ran up to whatever game you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re shooting and hit it in the head with a 5 lb. sledge hammer. The spent brass also reloads easily with a minimum amount of prepping. Thank you so very much Hornady for producing such a super grade round at such an affordable price and Thank you Midway for carrying it.

I ordered this while on sale. At close to $17 dollars it was a no brainer. Haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t shot it yet but I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m sure it will run like my other Hornady ammo.

I ordered 2 or 3 boxes of this a while back, along with a couple boxes of the 40 gr. Varmint Express. I have an older model CZ 527 Lux with a 1-12\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” twist. I finally did some patterning with them the other day. It was really windy & the Lux has a skinny barrel, so I only shot groups of 3. I got right under MOA averages with the biggest spread being under 1.25 on all groups. Not bad factoring conditions & that I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m not the greatest shot in the world. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m sure I can get slightly under .75 MOA groups with this combo with a little work on my part, but I was getting .360 & under groupings with the 40 gr. I had to take off 1 star because that\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s the performance it gave me. Not the greatest, but still more than acceptable. I have no doubts faster twist would be perfect for the 55 gr. and earn that 5th star. Definitely worth trying out.

I used to reload years ago but with the quality of ammo hornady makes I quit reloading. I use this ammo for coyote hunting brings them down good . Use it in my bolt action as well as my Ar

  7. Zane (verified owner)

The ammo will shoot 0.75 groups all day if I do my part. I tried 10 different manufacturer loads until I found this Hornady load and this was the factory load my rifle likes the best.

  8. John (verified owner)

Shot 5 different ammos through this gun, including some cheap F&S, Barnes 69 grain, Barnes 85 grain (came in 2nd), and IMI 77 grain. Once barrel was warmed up, this Hornady Black 75 was tightest, MOA at 100 yards. Some shooter error in there as well, I think it can get even tighter. For the cost, amazing BC and solid SD, this is my new ammo of choice. Now to hunt with it!

Using my Tikka T3 at 100′ I can put 10 rounds in a dime. I have taken prairie dogs 300. Burns clean, no FTF or FTE. this is excellent ammo.

I use this product for hunting Coyotes at night with Thermal Night Vision. The 55gr V-max anchors them where they are. Excellent terminal performance. Also, I am getting 0.25\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” groups out of this ammunition from an over the counter Tikka. Go ahead and knock me for it, but I load my AR-15 with this for home defense. I’ve tested it in calibrated ballistic gelatin (with BB method), outside at 64*F ambient temp, 20% humidity. First round hit right at my POA with irons, at 25 yards. Neck length was 1″, cavity length was 5″ by 2″ wide, found a 24gr core fragment lodged at 7″. Second round also dead-on accurate, with neck length 1 1/4″, cavity length 5 1/4″ long by 1 7/8″ wide, and a 29.3gr fragment lodged at 8″. True, it doesn’t meet the FBI penetration standards. But that kind of damage will stop an attack; if you hit an arm, the muscles and tendons are shredded, the chest, it’s a punctured lung or nicked heart, abdomen, good chance that you hit the abdominal aorta or renal arteries. Plus, it’s not going to penetrate through all your drywall and take out a neighbor.

I have been using the 55 grain load in my mini 14. Most shots are less than 100 yds in the big woods of New York’s Catskill mountains. Our larger Eastern coyote’s can go to 70 lbs and are no match to this excellent round. Will be using this for many years to come.

  21. Dylan (verified owner)

Just buy this ammo, nothing better unless you reload yourself. But as for me, this ammo will shoot 1/2 groups at 100, unless you are shooting very large numbers of rounds, and if you figure your time as anything. You don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t need to spend your time reloading. This ammo is so good; I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t get myself to sit in front of the reloader. I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t get any better groups with my reloads. Now if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re just out plinking and shooting hundreds of rounds a day. Naturally this is too expensive. But for serious hunting. This is the best commercial you can buy in my opinion.

  22. Edward (verified owner)

Great round. Very consistent. Shooting at distance and in pretty stiff wind in SD and it performed well. To be honest, it shot identically to some reloads using the Nosler version of this bullet. My AR is a different rifle with this bullet versus the any of the common FMJ available. As I shoot out my FMJ I’ll be reloading with this bullet from now on. Hornady put together great rounds and produces very consistent performance.

  23. Alan (verified owner)

I tested 8 different loads of 55 gr 223 through my 1-9 twist, and this Hornady v-max gave the tightest groups. It was just a tenth inch tighter than Nosler Varmageddon and 3/10 inch tighter than the Hornady TAP groups. I ran 20 rounds of each load, with the first 5 shots wasted for adjustment – only included the first five shots in the calculations where no adjustment was necessary. I tested outdoors with 2-15mph winds but mostly waited for no wind before taking shots. Other loads that didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t fair too well were PRVI (worst), Winchester NATO 2nd worst, Fiocchi 3rd worst, Hornady GMX Lead-Free 4th worst. Barnes VOR-TX Lead-free came right behind the Hornady TAP at 4th best by 3/10 inch and beat Hornady\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s GMX Lead-Free load by 3/10 inch.

I enjoy bench rest shooting with my AR 15. These rounds consistently shoot under 3/4 MOA when I do my part. No other factory round has ever done that for me!

Perfect if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re selling pelts like me and don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t want huge exit holes. They go in and do their job, but don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t come out. Never been one that really goes for groups but I would assume they shoot sub moa because I can shoot possums and skunks at 200 yards no problem that are eating the bait for the coyotes… I won\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t be changing loads in my ar any time soon. Awesome round for Coyotes. Used this ammo out of my DPMS AR (Sweet16) and dont think Ill buy any other brand. Puts the yotes down easily. Took this round out to about 250 yds, no problem.

I have a Rock River 18″ Predator Pursuit in stainless with a 1/8″ twist. She’s topped off with a Nikon with turret set for 3240ft/sec rounds. When I’m having a really good day, these rounds will just about go through the same hole every time. Took a young man deer hunting with me last year and he made a 225yd head shot his 2nd time ever on the gun. Also had these rounds at the range with a guy next to me shooting hand loaded customs, and I was out shooting him. He asked what I was shooting and looked visibly upset that I was shooting factory loads. Tried other loads a couple years ago and a few were OK, but these Hornadys beat the pants off anything else I’ve tried. I’ve also smacked a couple coyotes with these rounds with “dirt nap” results. With the accuracy these Hornadys have, there’s no good reason for me to even try any other round.

It is used in a Savage bolt action rifle with a 3×9 scope for foxes and coyotes that are bothering pets and livestock.

  39. Samuel (verified owner)

This is by far my favorite ammo in my AR’s. It consistently shoots sub MOA groups in all of my rifles. The effects on varmints is devastating.

No worries about needing a second shot. 130 yards on 1 of the biggest groundhogs I have ever seen. I wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t sure if he was hit because he never moved at all. Until the familiar tail wiggle. This is the only round I buy for my Stag Arms AR 1 in 9 twist. Hope this helps..

These grouped down to less than .75\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” out of my 223 Sako Varmint. But, they splash real bad at the speed these things are going (3100 – 3200fps). Even on something as small as adult prairie dogs, they \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”blow up” and make a large (3″ – 4″blister” type wound and don’t even get through the animals. I found this to be a problem with all the thin jacket “Varmint” bullets though. I finally hand loaded some Sierra 55 grain SBT\’s that do the job 100% better.

  42. Nathaniel (verified owner)

This ammo shoots sub MOA out of my 16″ AR15. Longest confirmed kill with this combo is 354 yards on a yote. Very accurate and very deadly. Will continue feeding my yote gun this ammo.

Out of a DPMS Bull 20, shot 1/4\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” groups at 100 yards and at 200 yards shot 3/4\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” groups multiple times with a slight cross wind. Very clean ammo cycles perfect and shoots great. My groups were also five shot groups at both 100 and 200 yards.

It has been very accurate, giving me the best groups of any of the 12 different makes and versions of .223 ammo that I tested.
