Swift High Grade Big Game Hunting Ammunition
Swift High Grade Big Game Hunting Ammunition has made the best hunting projectiles, A-Frame and Scirocco, for 31 years. We make those same acceptable projectiles available to you in Swift High Grade Ammunition. But this ammunition is virtually handcrafted, hand inspected, and is water-tight sealed.
With its 2.2x controlled expansion and over 95% weight retention, A-Frame perfectly penetrates deep mushrooms, making it the hunter’s choice for use in any game, anywhere in the world. WT. In 2012, Swift introduced its new “Lever Action Series.” These new bullets are a re-configured A-Frame design.
My options at the low and high ends are silly for the game animals at the opposite ends (you don’t need a .416 Rem. Mag. to kill a whitetail). But to tackle all the great games, I have to provide options at the ends. Here are the best ammo options for big game hunters. The 6.5 Creedmoor is one of the universal bullets ever built. Buy Nosler Trophy Grade Ammunition 6.5 Creedmoor 129 Grain online.
In 2012, swift high grade big game-lever action hunting ammunition 45-70 introduced its new “Lever Action Series.” But these new bullets are a re-configured A-Frame design. This unique design allows the shell to open up at very low velocities (1200 fps), critical in these slow-moving cartridges. The bullet functions well up to approximately 2700 fps on the high end of the velocity scale.

I ordered this while on sale. At close to $17 dollars it was a no brainer. Haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t shot it yet but I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’m sure it will run like my other Hornady ammo.

This ammo is perfect for taking those groundhogs that my 17 HMR can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t reach. The round expands great and is devastating to groundhogs.

These grouped down to less than .75\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” out of my 223 Sako Varmint. But, they splash real bad at the speed these things are going (3100 – 3200fps). Even on something as small as adult prairie dogs, they \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”blow up” and make a large (3″ – 4″blister” type wound and don’t even get through the animals. I found this to be a problem with all the thin jacket “Varmint” bullets though. I finally hand loaded some Sierra 55 grain SBT\’s that do the job 100% better.

I have shot these out of 1-7 and 1-8 twist barrels. Both barrels shot 1/2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” at 100 yards. The slight bit of inaccuracy was likely due on my part. As for hunting, I have successfully taken down hogs with this 55gr bullet. One shot and they didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t move. I know it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s not advertised for this, but there isn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t much this round can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t do.

This is the gold standard in my opinion for 223 ammo. It is very consistent in my rifle and by other reviews it works great for most people.
Aadarsh (verified owner) –
After shooting 100 rounds there was no FTF or misfeeds. I am very impressed with how accurate the ammo is.
Kaden Arabic (verified owner) –
I was able to cut holes with this ammunition at 100 yards out of my Savage .223, excellent ammo.
Kayden (verified owner) –
This is amazingly accurate, and produces devastating results on coyotes. I use nothing but this ammo when on the hunt for Wiley Coyote! Ground hogs will vaporize on contact!

Use this in my AR to coyote hunt.
Dominic (verified owner) –
My favorite ammunition for coyotes, squirrels, and any other vermin or predators that end up in my crosshairs. Accuracy is great, and I have no problem using this as a home defense ammunition out of my MSR. Or, as a hunting round from my MSR. Great stuff!

I was able to cut holes with this ammunition at 100 yards out of my Savage .223, excellent ammo.

Very tight groups at 100 yards out of my Rock River Coyote Carbine (16″ barrel). The accuracy and precision was outstanding for a factory load.
Riley (verified owner) –
I have tried many other brands of ammo, these grouped the best for my rifle.
Dominic (verified owner) –
I have a Rock River 18″ Predator Pursuit in stainless with a 1/8″ twist. She’s topped off with a Nikon with turret set for 3240ft/sec rounds. When I’m having a really good day, these rounds will just about go through the same hole every time. Took a young man deer hunting with me last year and he made a 225yd head shot his 2nd time ever on the gun. Also had these rounds at the range with a guy next to me shooting hand loaded customs, and I was out shooting him. He asked what I was shooting and looked visibly upset that I was shooting factory loads. Tried other loads a couple years ago and a few were OK, but these Hornadys beat the pants off anything else I’ve tried. I’ve also smacked a couple coyotes with these rounds with “dirt nap” results. With the accuracy these Hornadys have, there’s no good reason for me to even try any other round.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve been looking for an accurate round for my AR and these have performed great. I have a 20\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” 1:8 barrel and have tried many different bullet weights by different manufactures. 1/2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” at 100 yards in 15+ mph winds and that was 8 shots no flyers.
Dylan (verified owner) –
This is by far my favorite ammo in my AR’s. It consistently shoots sub MOA groups in all of my rifles. The effects on varmints is devastating.
Avery (verified owner) –
Works very well on coyotes. Very consistent and accurate out of my 18″ Seekins barrel. Feeds well. No issues at all.
Paul (verified owner) –
1 shot 1 kill. This is the only ammo to use deer hunting. I have killed multiple whitetails using this ammo.

I use this product for hunting Coyotes at night with Thermal Night Vision. The 55gr V-max anchors them where they are. Excellent terminal performance. Also, I am getting 0.25\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” groups out of this ammunition from an over the counter Tikka. Can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t ask for much more.
Riley (verified owner) –
Very accurate dependable varmit load! Would not shoot anything else.
Phoenix (verified owner) –
Great on bigger game too. With the accuracy of these, whitetails at 200+yards are certainly not off limits. However, those are head and neck shots which put them down immediately. I have yet to try for a heart shot, but I am positive it would work equally as well. Accuracy is everything, and these factory loads are awesome on paper and in the field.

I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ve shot 3 coyotes already this year with this ammo and it has dropped all 3 with no exit hole. Perfect if you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’re selling pelts like me and don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t want huge exit holes. Never been one that really goes for groups but I would assume they shoot sub moa because I can shoot possums and skunks at 200 yards no problem that are eating the bait for the coyotes… I won\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t be changing loads in my ar any time soon. These bullets get the job done, period.

Go ahead and knock me for it, but I load my AR-15 with this for home defense. I’ve tested it in calibrated ballistic gelatin (with BB method), outside at 64*F ambient temp, 20% humidity. First round hit right at my POA with irons, at 25 yards. Neck length was 1″, cavity length was 5″ by 2″ wide, found a 24gr core fragment lodged at 7″. Second round also dead-on accurate, with neck length 1 1/4″, cavity length 5 1/4″ long by 1 7/8″ wide, and a 29.3gr fragment lodged at 8″. True, it doesn’t meet the FBI penetration standards. But that kind of damage will stop an attack; if you hit an arm, the muscles and tendons are shredded, the chest, it’s a punctured lung or nicked heart, abdomen, good chance that you hit the abdominal aorta or renal arteries. Plus, it’s not going to penetrate through all your drywall and take out a neighbor.

I enjoy bench rest shooting with my AR 15. These rounds consistently shoot under 3/4 MOA when I do my part. No other factory round has ever done that for me!
Nathaniel (verified owner) –
300yd shots at coyotes are no problem! One round and they are in the dirt. This round seems to blowup when it hits! No ftfire, fteject,or jams in mini14. Holds really good groups at 200yds bottom of coke can size.

Out of my Windham AR, this is the most accurate ammo I have used. I bought a box and fired that at 100 yards. It was so good I bought 20 boxes!! I am using it to thin the Feral Hogs around here in central Texas.

I shoot this in a Noveske AR, and it shoots great, consistent, no feed problems, and groups sub moa.

I searched for a round that my .223 bolt action fired consistently. The first time I fired this ammo I was shooting clover leaf patterns at 100 yards and 1\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” to 1.5\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” inch groups at 200 yards. This ammo stops the Yotes in their tracks.

I shoot these rounds out a savage axis ll not a expensive gun at all I think I paid somewhere around $400 ish for the rifle. Also it came with a 3×9 bushnell banner dusk till dawn scope. The rifle was bore sighted and after about 2 shots I had it dialed into the bullseye. I was zeroing it at 50 yards roughly then lowered my crosshairs down to the specifications on the back of the box for 100 yards. Again bullseye. I was cutting holes with these rounds repeatedly on just a sand bag rest.

Just what you would expect from Hornady products. Shoots sub MOA groups. Havn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t had a chance to try on coyote yet, but it is fast, accurate, and dependable.
